Policy Analysis Research Assignment

1.      Policy Analysis – Research Paper (150 pts)  

Students will be required to research the following:

Executive Order 13780, titled protecting the Nation from Foreign Terrorist Entry into the United States, is an executive order signed by United States President Donald Trump on March 6, 2017. 

Students are expected to research the issue and develop an analysis as to whether or not they support or oppose the travel ban.  Students should provide a rationale for why they support or oppose the travel ban.


  • The analysis paper should answer the following questions:  Will it negatively impact or benefit the economy of Missouri?  What particular population(s), if any, would be affected by the travel ban and what is the potential outcome of the travel ban have on you, your family, neighborhood/community, college and give current statistics relative to those impacted by the travel ban.
  • The analysis MUST be typed using APA format.  See the Citation Help area on this guide.   
  • Papers should be between 5-7 content pages (title page and citation pages are NOT to be counted as part of the 5-7 content pages). I ask that student please use verifiable/creditable sources.  Your analysis should NOT be based purely on personal beliefs or feelings.  This assignment is due at the beginning of class on Tuesday, December 11, 2019 (Finals week).
