Company Research

This Library Guide will help you research company information from current news to financial statistics.

The purpose of a Directory

A directory is a listing of individuals or organizations that is organized either alphabetically or by a theme/subject. A directory may contain such information as name, address, and contact information. A directory can be in the form of a book or in an electronic format.

A directory is a good place to start when researching a company, because it can provide you with the foundation for furthering research.  A directory can also help determine a company to research based on their industry, location, size, or any other information included.

Directories are very helpful in determining whether a company is public or private, which can affect how, and where information can be found.
