"The Astronomical Society of Eastern Missouri (ASEM) is an Astronomy club designed to put fun and passion into astronomy." ASEM sponsors activities for both beginners as well as more advanced astronomy buffs..

Founded in 1936, St. Louis Astronomical Society (SLAS) is "devoted to the interest and advancement of the science of astronomy." As part of its mission of astronomy outreach, SLAS holds regular meetings open to the public, and organizes stargazing parties. SLAS is a member of the Night Sky Network.

The St. Louis Science Center features the James S. McDonnell Planetarium, which hosts exhibits on topics such as astronomical research and life on the International Space Station. The Planetarium also offers regularly scheduled shows and events for all ages.

The primary organization of professional astronomers in North America. Founded in 1899.

International student group devoted to study of the sun, moon, planets and other astronomical objects.

Nationwide group consisting of hundreds of amateur astronomical societies. Promotes interest in astronomy, with particular emphasis on amateur astronomy.

Organization dedicated to astronomy education. "The heart and soul of the ASP’s mission is connecting astronomy to people, connecting people to learning opportunities, and building bridges between teachers and students – no matter what the “classroom” looks like: school, museum, planetarium, national park, state park, nature center, astronomy club, city sidewalk, online, backyard."

The IAU's mission is to "promote and safeguard the science of astronomy in all its aspects through international cooperation." It pursues this mission primarily by organizing meetings of professional astronomers. The IAU holds nine international symposia per year.

Working closely with NASA, the JPL develops spacecraft and instruments to explore both the solar system and planetary systems beyond our own. The website include videos, news and images.

The mission of this world famous organization is to to "pioneer the future in space exploration, scientific discovery and aeronautics research."

The National Academies comprise the National Academy of Sciences, the National Academy of Engineering, the Institute of Medicine and the National Research Council. The Academies provide expert advice on national issues to the federal government and the public. The Space Studies Board serves as the independent forum within the National Academies on all aspects of space research.

"The Night Sky Network is a partnership of amateur astronomy clubs, Astronomical Society of the Pacific, and other organizations" dedicated to "bringing the science, technology, and inspiration of NASA's missions to the general public." The Network shares its "time and telescopes to provide... unique astronomy experiences at science museums, observatories, classrooms, and under the real night sky."

The mission of the Society is to "create a better future by exploring other worlds and understanding our own." The Society involves the public in this mission through advocacy, projects, and education. Established in 1980, Carl Sagan was one of the organization's founding members.

STScI operates the science program for the Hubble Space Telescope and the James Webb Space Telescope (scheduled to launch in 2018). The Institute makes its scientific data available to the public, and conducts a variety of educational and outreach programs.
