STLCC Libraries welcomed Neil E. Das as our new Librarian, Forest Park campus on February 14, 2022. Neil earned his Master of Library and Information Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and may already be familiar to many in the STLCC community.
Hello, old friends…and new.
I am very excited to be returning to STLCC and the Forest Park Library where I previously worked for nearly ten years as a faculty reference librarian. Having acquired some new skills while at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville for the past three and a half years, I am returning to be a professional circulation librarian at Forest Park Library and an assistant to the district systems librarian.
What remains constant in my new role at STLCC is that I am ready and eager to serve and support students, faculty, and staff. I am happy to help with any circulation related tasks. Please feel free to email me or stop by the desk. I might even be able to help with a reference question in a pinch!
One great part of being back is that my new/old commute takes me right through the amazing Forest Park, which is a big plus for at least three of my hobbies: taking photos, writing haiku, and bicycling. A 3.3 mile commute means I am all out of excuses for ignoring my sweet, sweet gravel bike. If you would like to follow my progress in the other two hobbies, you may do so at @neiledas and @haiku_effect
