Career Development Research Guide

Do you want to investigate a career more thoroughly? Are you interested in learning more about resume and interviewing skills, or in looking at current job listings? Use the Career Development Resources Guide below:

Use ArcherSearch -- the STLCC Libraries discovery tool

Try ArcherSearch to search for career-related books, ebooks, articles, dvds and more. ArcherSearch is a consolidated search tool (discovery service) that allows you to search the Library Catalog, library guides, and many databases (50+) simultaneously. Learning how to refine/filter your search results is key to getting the most out of ArcherSearch. Try it out by using the "All Filters" button under the search box inside ArcherSearch. Scroll down this page to see an example of a search results page in ArcherSearch. Remember, you can always Ask a Librarian for help.

ArcherSearch - example of filters menu for search results

Try a keyword search; some examples:  nursing career   /   career advic  /
service career*   /  lawyer and career  /  career success

The following screen result shows the "All filters" menu that pops up to the right of a keyword search results page: nursing and career advice

NOTE: Source Types is circled in red below. There are other ways to filter search results, but these are commonly used.
