Archaeology

STLCC Libraries carry quite a few videorecordings, including some on archaeology. In general, videorecordings held at one STLCC campus may be requested by another. Intercampus shipping usually takes 1 - 2 business days. However, some items (marked with a notation such as "LIB USE ONLY") are not requestable, and must be viewed on the campus where they are housed.

To find videorecordings on archaeology, go to the library catalog, and perform a keyword search on a term such as archaeolog* or archaeology. To the left of the search results, under the Format category, click on the plus sign next to the format you wish (for example, DVD). Click here to see an example in which the DVD format has been selected.

You may be able to find useful videos about archaeology on free Internet video sites such as YouTube. Since YouTube is a large database, searching with a  broad term such as archaeology may yield too many results to be of much help. A more specific term such as minoan crete excavations may prove more valuable.

NOTE: Remember that anyone can post anything on the Internet. Therefore the quality and scholarly acceptability of videos on YouTube varies greatly. However, there may be useful video clips on YouTube, so it's worth a look. Before using any material from YouTube (or other video sites on the Internet) it is highly advisable to check with your instructor concerning the acceptability of the video for the assignment.

While anyone can use the STLCC library databases on campus, only current students, faculty, and staff may use the databases off-campus.
