When searching for up to the minute or historical information on a company, there are a variety of options. Library databases can be very helpful in searching journal articles, newspapers, and magazines. There are also a number of outside sources to search on the internet. A few tips on current news research are included below.
When searching for articles regarding a smaller business it is a good idea to search the newspaper that is closest to the company's headquarters. I.e. for Starbucks, search The Seatte Times. If unsure of which newspaper is closest to the company headquarters, refer to a company directory.
Make sure that the source used is reputable, and the information correct. Using the links provided here is a great way to ensure that the information is not false.
Library books about companies can be great resources for in-depth histories or descriptions of corporate culture. Start with the catalog and do a keyword search for your company name. Here are a few books at STLCC campus libraries.
