When searching in any of the databases, use these tips for powerful searches:

 

  • Break your search into main concepts

Separate those main concepts with the word and

  • Once you get a result list, use the limiters or filters to refine your search. 

In almost all of the databases, you can limit or filter by 

date
subject
format

Pay attention to the requirements of your assignment and make sure your limits match what you are looking for!

 

  • For your assignment, it is important to find articles from the field of sociology.

Include the word sociology as one of your main concepts or use the Subject limit to narrow your results to sociology.
