Our hotspots are cellular-based and operate through two carriers, AT&T, identified by an orange sticker on the carrying pouch and Verizon, identified by a red sticker on the pouch. Usability of our hotspots depends on the strength of the cellular signal from these providers. In general, rural or remote areas may have limited or no signal. Buildings with dense materials (concrete, metal) may interfere with signal strength. Basement-level spaces can also experience reduced coverage, depending on the carrier.
Tip: If your internet connection is slow, move your SmartSpot near a window to insure the SmartSpot has a clear connection to the nearest cell tower. Your computer/tablet/smartphone will be able to connect to the SmartSpot via WiFi without issues throughout your home, even if you’re in a different room.
