OER Resources

What are Open Educational Resources (OER)?

Open Educational Resources (OER) are teaching, learning, and research resources that reside in the public domain or have been released under an intellectual property license that permits repurposing by others. The OER movement, which supports the creation and dissemination of freely accessible and openly copyrighted course materials, has driven the conversation about textbook and course material affordability and its impact on student success. Recently, the discussion has broadened to an awareness of Affordable & Open Educational Resources (A&OER). Affordable materials include those provided through licensed subscriptions at a low cost, or no cost to students.
